Long Island Power Authority Baseline Study - Lighting
Acting as a subcontractor to Xenergy, APT visited retailers on Long Island and collected inventory and shelf space data for 150 lighting retailers. Data was collected on products including CFLs, indoor and outdoor fixtures. APT captured whether they were labeled by manufacturers, pricing and amount of shelf space dedicated to ENERGY STAR® products. APT populated these data into an Access database specifically designed for collecting and analyzing the information. Additionally, APT designed interview and survey instruments and conducted 50 in home surveys where we collected information on all of the fixtures and light bulbs in the homes as well as attitudinal and behavioral data.
Long Island Power Authority Baseline Study - Appliances
Acting as a subcontractor to Xenergy, APT visited over 80 appliance retailers on Long Island and collected display floor data. Data was collected on products including refrigerators, clothes washers, room air conditioners and dishwashers. APT captured the style, size, type, price of the appliances and the numbers of appliances on the sales floors. APT populated its Access database specifically designed to capture and analyze these data and generated reports on the percentage of appliances on the display floor that qualified for the ENERGY STAR.
Long Island Power Authority Market Progress Report
LIPA was asked to provide data indicating market transformation progress in both the lighting and appliance programs. For this report APT provided data in several points in time over three years indicating the increase in number of stores participating, an increase in the number of store’s sales staff trained, the increase in percentage of ENERGY STAR products inventoried and displayed, a reduction in price points, increase in the variety of ENERGY STARr products available, increase in the amount of advertising space allocated to ENERGY STAR products, and increase in the sales of these products. APT collected sales data from lighting and appliance manufacturers and retailers to trend increases in sales.
