Overview

Providing product and rebate fulfillment services for the New Hampshire CORE Utilities’ lighting and appliance program (nhsaves) since 2002. The New Hampshire lighting program has relied almost exclusively on in-store coupons, in large measure because regulators were interested in having customer level detail captured for the state’s efficiency programs. Provide print and on-line lighting catalog design services for the New Hampshire utilities.

The nhsaves ENERGY STAR program is about people in New Hampshire doing the right thing – working together to save energy, reduce costs and protect the environment. We also run two small programs in New Hampshire for Gas Networks. The Gas Networks Program field outreach to vendors and retailers. The Gas Networks Program is designed to promote ENERGY STAR qualified thermostats in the cities and towns of New Hampshire. We do this by offering a $25 mail in rebate to all New Hampshire Gas Networks customers.

Implementation

The purpose of the program is to promote ENERGY STAR qualified lighting and appliance products at retail storefronts in New Hampshire. We offer a $1 instant coupon on all ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs, a $10 instant coupon on all ENERGY STAR qualified lighting fixtures, torchieres, and select interior/exterior fixtures and ceiling fans. As for the appliance program, we offer a $50 mail-in rebate for ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, and a $20 mail-in rebate for ENERGY STAR qualified room air conditioners. We also promote ENERGY STAR qualified dishwashers and refrigerators by placing collateral materials in appliance stores. The field team is in charge of training retail employees about the features and benefits of ENERGY STAR qualified products.

Summary of Results

IIn 2007, 331,000 lighting products, and 10,837 clothes washers were rebated. Residents purchased more than 3,800 ENERGY STAR air conditioners, and processed more than 13,000 catalog orders for 55,000 energy efficient light bulbs and fixtures.
