Overview
The WashWise Program offers tiered rebates, based on energy and water efficiency, of $50, $75 or $100 for the purchase of qualified clothes washers. Under the WashWise name, this utility collaborative promotes the purchase of efficient clothes washers to conserve natural resources, protect habitat and maintain a healthy environment for the Puget Sound region and beyond. Utilities participating in the WashWise program include Puget Sound Energy, Seattle City Light, Tacoma Power and Water, Cascade Water Alliance, City of Renton, and the Saving Water Partnership. APT is responsible for the field implementation and has one full time representative devoted to the Program. WashWise is implemented in partnership with PECI.
Implementation
Field Representatives work with PECI staff to distribute new program materials and train retailers on the program details.
APT field representative make consistent visits to all WashWise partnered retailers to refresh point of purchase materials, distribute additional rebate forms and offer refresher training on the WashWise rebate and ENERGY STAR.
Our field staff plays a key role in the signing of retailer partnership agreements for any cooperative marketing promotions. Field representatives work with retailers to design, submit, and coordinate marketing plans, and provide general support to retailers during their promotions.
Summary of Results
WashWise is a powerful example of APT’s ability to implement a Program requiring a complex collaborative approach with multiple utility sponsors and partner with other Program Management implementation contractors. APT’s ability to maximize and leverage field resources with this Program contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the NEEA Consumer Products Program in the Puget Sound area.
