APT provides ENERGY STAR Lighting and Appliance Training for the following categories of retail personnel:
- Cashiers
- Bookkeepers
- Sales Associates
- Store Managers / Owners
- Marketing Personnel
- Customers

Each group is presented with information tailored to their position and responsibilities on the retail level. Customers are included as a category because in the course of our field visits we inevitably meet customers to whom we present the ENERGY STAR Program information.
Since 2007, APT has documented trainings that take place at the retail store level. While at the store, APT field representatives log the trainee’s name, title, and give a brief description of information given to the trainee. This information is then submitted to management and logged in our monthly field reports.
Over the past year, APT has held over 14,000 trainings within the stores our field representatives visit. In the process of doing this, the retail personnel gain valuable information about ENERGY STAR lighting and appliance products. This information is then passed on to the consumer during the sale of those products. |
