Overview
National
Grid is committed to educating consumers on the benefits
of saving energy through the use of ENERGY STAR qualified
CFLs in their homes. Our primary goal is to create
long-term sustainable change in consumer awareness and behavior
that will result in reducing their home energy costs.
Implementation
Field representatives
in Rhode Island train retailers, customers, and sales personnel
in both lighting and appliance departments. They also put up point of purchase (POP) materials, run Change-A-Light events, and promote the signing of pledge cards. Through
field implementation, education, and advertising National
Grid is helping customers save energy with ENERGY STAR qualified
lighting and appliances.
The Rhode Island program provides residential customers with the opportunity
to purchase ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescents, PNNL tested floods,
and fixtures at a discounted price. In addition, we offer mail-in incentives
on ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, and room air conditioning units.
